“Beige? Isn’t it one of the most boring tones in the colour palette?” “Wearing beige always makes me look washed out!” This was the main response I received from my female friends when talked about wearing beige.
Beige, also known as nude and pale, this neutral tone might not be everyone’s cup of tea; it is however, one of the hottest shade this spring/summer.
Olivia, a female friend of mine who lived in Sydney years ago, blonde; speaks with her upper class English and her entire wardrobe was full of beige; cream and more beige. With her pale complexion and nude make up, wearing mostly beige with white or cream. When we had night outs, she only needed to add red lips to pop her ‘washed out’ look!
Olivia’s whole beige ensemble really worked for her – with her classy background and her posh accent. Through Olivia, I got beige. It’s a shade that is: classy; clean; feminine; fresh; posh; refined and understated elegance.
As someone who has light olive complexion like myself, I tend to enhance beige with gold or brass accessories. I have seen nude against dark blue and it works too, we just need to shop around with an open mind and find out what works best for us.

Thank you Cara. This picture is among one of my favourites from my self portrait journey. X
Beautiful photo and beautiful dress!!
Thank you! Cheers~
Stunning, You’re making me tempted to wear beige!
I’m so happy to hear your feedback Katie. Thank you! X
You look stunning in that dress! For a second I thought you got that picture from a magazine! 😀
Thank you for your compliments Mirjana. I’m flattered. 🙂 :-*
Hi Vivienne, you look great with this sober and elegant color!
I’m glad you think so! Thank you Krystel. X
I definitely agree with you..
One suggestion: next summer I’m going to a wedding in Turkey in a wonderful sea side place..
Do you think I can wear beige and use old pink for shoes and accessories?
Have a great day!
Thank you for your feedback!
The current nude/beige is slightly pinkish so it’d match pink accessories quite well I think. As long as you avoid white or cream which is too bridal-like, you will be fine.
A summer wedding in Turkey by the sea.., wow~ I wish I got the invitation too!! :-*
Reblogged this on Crazy Pasta Child.
Thank you so much!! This dress is a vintage Paola Frani – Italian brand – I thought you’d like it!! 🙂
Stunning dress! Nude/beige is always so elegant and classy. Everyone is wearing black or red during the holidays, nude/beige dresses would be so refreshing. They’re easy to dress up with accessories too!
I’m so happy to read your comment Wazwu. And I’m glad that you mentioned the word “refreshing” – that’s what beige is about, isn’t it?!!! X
Exactly! 🙂 I think nude/beige is often regarded as colorless, but it’s actually very striking and distinctive. I just remember the naked dress Carrie wore on Sex and The City.
Beautiful xo
Thank you! X
Wow ~ beautiful photography, by the sea and a very fresh, lively feel.
I’m thrilled to hear this positive feedback from you who is a fabulous photographer yourself! Thank you Randall! X
🙂 Wishing you a wonderful, relaxing holiday – which should be no problem with your wonderful dresses.
