It was a day; a night of spring chill. So I decided to go for the old Hollywood glamour, faux fur (that’s right) on top of my blue velvet – “velvet is so in right now” – ankle length gown to attend a Spring Soiree with my partner in crime, Street Fashion Sydney’s Kent Johnson.
This Spring Soiree had a beautiful; rosy flower ‘media’ wall for guests to have their pictures taken. The Havana themed Garden Party was happening upstairs at the Cohibar.
Cuban cigar smoking; champagne drinking; wine; cocktails and sweets were generously provided to guests while we mingled and enjoyed the view and the skyline from Darling Harbour.
Although having stopped smoking three years ago, Kent lit up a cigar in his hand and clearly treasured and enjoyed it. (He is still not smoking.) Meanwhile; we happily met and chatted to Sam from Cigar Journal (top right of the image below), who obviously knows quite a thing or two about Cuban cigars.
Another Sam I befriended that night was a young lady, an artist from New York.
“Have you thought of becoming a glamour model?” Sam’s New Yorker friend Anna, who is now based in Sydney and works as WINK modelling agency’s talent manager handed me her card and kindly asked.
As you can imagine, I was very flattered to receive such a compliment! (Bottom left of the picture below from left: Anna, myself and Sam.)
Soiree = an evening party or gathering; for conversation or music. More soiree invite please!! And yes there was great live music throughout the night.
