OOTN For My Milestone Birthday Celebration

This February I celebrated my milestone birthday with Kent at Quay restaurant in Sydney. Since vivalaViv is a self-styled fashion diary, I’ll focus on my Outfit-of-the-Night (OOTN) on this special occasion.

On my birthday I had my hair and makeup done. Then I threw together a look in something given (scarf), something new (dress and sandals) and something from the past (earrings, rings and watch)… My aim was to look glam yet be relaxed and comfortable for a journey of epicurean adventure.

Kent and I arrived a little early, so I had time for Kent to take a commemorative portrait outside Quay restaurant, at this stunning location looking towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Late February, it was on the cusp of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia. We felt very fortunate that we were able to stick to our original booking; without been cancelled or postponed due to the unpredictability of COVID-19 cases and the associated restrictions.

The dinner? Our 8-course dégustation menu with pairing wine belongs to another story… For you who is interested in finding out, please CLICK HERE for the Part One and CLICK HERE for the Part Tow of our EPIC food posts on White Caviar Life.

Living through these COVID times, it seems like anything could happen at anytime. An uninterrupted birthday dinner plan was simply good luck and good timing (don’t think they’re the same thing, are they?)! At the time of writing, we are in the beginning of the Greater Sydney’s 3-week lockdown. We’ve learnt not to take things for granted long ago, and with an attitude of gratitude, we cherish this dining experience. I was hoping we could celebrate my milestone birthday in style and I guess I got my wish!

You can too book Kent Johnson Photography for portraits of any kind or documenting special occasions.
