Yes, it’s been a long time… But since my drop box delivered the result of some scanned negatives from my 23rd birthday party, my memory of that fun night came to me so freshly, so vividly, like it’s only happened yesterday!

The first thing I noticed was my thick, curly long hair! Awwww… I want my hair back!! The second thing that grabbed my attention was this mesh-spliced black evening dress I chose for the occasion. The design stood out for its clean aesthetic while the legs were flattered by the feminine and sexy see-through material. Yes, sheer fabric was hugely popular in the 1990s! I just love how I wore it with a young woman’s carefree confidence.

And that fabulous golden wrap blouse! I really liked its wide lapel and frills on the edge of the sleeves. However, since it didn’t fit me well anymore, I donated it to a charity shop six or seven years ago. I hope the new owner appreciates it as much as I did! Regarding my accessory choices, I wouldn’t change a thing. The platform-heeled sandals’ wide stripy design echoes the theme of the dress. My golden earrings, golden necklace, and golden wrap blouse all complemented one another nicely.

The venue of my party was a buffet restaurant in Sydney’s ANA Hotel, this hotel has been replaced by Hyatt Regency. So many memories flooded over me when I looked at the scanned result from my laptop screen… In 2016, I missed the dress code of Reebonz’s VIP event, it happened to be Black and Gold. While I was wearing black and coral (at least I covered the black bit!), whenever a fellow guest asked me ‘Where is your gold?’, I had this ensemble in my mind the whole evening, and I thought it would be just so perfect for that bash!
